Manufacturer's 20 Year Warranty

Consultancy

INITIAL MEETING

We will schedule an initial meeting with the building owner to determine the following:

» Age of existing roof
» Goals of the building owner
» Time and budgetary considerations
» Review of different types of roof systems available on a given project
» Manufacturer’s warranties available for Specifications under consideration

ROOF INSPECTIONS

After the initial meeting, our next step is to conduct a comprehensive roof inspection that includes:

» Visual examination of the roof and its related components
» Core cutting and analysis
» Field drawing and measurement of the roof
» Job set up and safety features to be adhered to during the job

We use the following steps to gather the necessary data:

» Arrange for the individual who has the ultimate responsibility for roof maintenance to inspect the roof with us.
» Try to find out as much as possible on the history of the roof, before we get up on it.
» Inspect the underside of the deck, carefully checking all areas that have experienced leakage or show signs of  leakage. We note any other problems or signs that may indicate defective decking. If the deck is metal, we note the direction the flutes run.
» Note the location of columns and other supports.
» Ask if we can have a plot plan, roof plan or floor plan of the buildings which are to be examined.
» Sketch the roof plans roughly to proportion, if plans are not available.
» Designate by name or number each individual roof area which is to be examined.
» Ask about the history of each roof area, and obtain information about problem areas.
» Develop a pattern for walking and examining roofs.
» Judge where cores should be cut on the basis of our observations.
